3-Day Fast
This fast can be a Full Fast, Daniel Fast or give up at least one item of food.

Partial Fast
A partial fast is from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or from sun up to sundown. You can select from three types of fasting —a Full Fast, Daniel Fast or give up at least one item of food.

My notes: At the same time, there are even more ways to fast. I have a friend who loves dairy products and she decided to go off of them for a fast and is having the best time with the Lord!!

There are many, many creative conglomerations of fasting. For instance, for longer fasts, you could fast one of these ways for 2 days and eat 2 days, fast 2 days, eat 2 days. The Jewish people now do a 3 day fast where they fast for 24 hours, eat within one hour, fast 24 hours, eat within one hour and fast for 24 hours. It's a total of 72 hours but 70 hours of fasting which is how many days Hamen ruled when Esther was Queen. One hour for every day he ruled. (He tried to destroy the Jews.)

You could do a Daniel fast and add a juice fast on Tuesday and Thursday.

Basically there are a thousand ways to fast. You and God come up with how you want to do it, and stick to it. Don't start out big. Start with a partial fast for only one day. Don't forget the most important thing: Spend time with God!! Extra time!!

One thing I love that Jentezen Franklin says is, "If it means something to you, it means something to God." This statement set me free when it comes to fasting! I've done two 40 day fasts now. I did terrible on the second one, but I'm growing stronger. When I gave in, which was quite often, I just brushed myself off and went on with the fast. I think that next time I'll allow for one meal a day instead of no solids.

Scripture References for Fasting: Matthew 6:16-18, Matthew 9:14-15, Luke 18:9-14

Relation to Prayer and Reading of the Word: 1 Samuel 1:6-8, 17-18, Nehemiah 1:4, Daniel 9:3, 20, Joel 2:12, Luke 2:37, Acts 10:30, Acts 13:2

Corporate Fasting: 1 Samuel 7:5-6, Ezra 8:21-23, Nehemiah 9:1-3, Joel 2:15-16, Jonah 3:5-10, Acts 27:33-37

Remember that it is the attitude of a heart sincerely seeking Him to which God responds with a blessing (Isaiah 58, Jeremiah 14:12, 1 Corinthians 8:8). May God greatly bless you as you fast!

It's Time!

Yep, it's time to get healed in our souls, and to receive revelation of and from Jesus.

It's time to sacrifice food for the sake of knowing Him. He is our bread of Life.

It's time to allow God to help us get into the place where we can heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons and preach the Gospel with authority.

You are welcome to join us as we fast together every Monday with the option of fasting Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the beginning of every month.

The way we'll be doing the 3 day fast is the same way that the Jewish people do it now: Fast for 24 hours, eat within the next hour, fast 24 hours, eat within the next hour, and fast for 24 hours. Or, you make up your own guidelines with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Plus, we do a long fast at the beginning of every year and the beginning of every Jewish year in September.

This is a place to get support, encouragement, information both spiritual and physical.

Welcome!
